Ruth Langsford: This Morning star’s sister’s cause of death confirmed as suicide

A coroner at the inquest has claimed the older sister of This Morning star Ruth Langsford took her own life at her family home in Surrey back in June. Julia Johnson was discovered by her husband Paul who had been away visiting the couple’s daughter.

The coroner ruled that Julia’s death was suicide.

Ruth had confirmed the news of her sister’s death on social media back in June.

The presenter shared a picture of the siblings with the caption: “My lovely sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness.

“My heart is completely broken. She was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever.

Back in 2010, the sisters spoke to Daily Express about their upbringing together.

Julia said the pair are “very different” and said added she would hate to be in the limelight like her sibling.

She said: “Ruth and I are very different.

“She is the confident one — I would hate to be in the limelight like she is — but she has worked her way up and I’m very proud of her.

“I’m three years older but we were very close as little girls. Our father was in the military so we moved all over the world with him.

“When I was eight I was sent to live with my godparents so I could go to school in the UK for a year.

“That was hard — we missed each other a lot, and later I heard that Ruth kept asking, ‘Where is my sister?’”
