Facebook not working for you? You’re not alone. A swathe of users have complained of a social network outage this afternoon. Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 470 reports at one time from Facebook fans insisting it’s not working properly. As you’d expect, users have migrated to Twitter to express their disappointment at the outage.
One said: “Thought I was going insane but alas, no, it’s just a Facebook down!
“Needed to come to Twitter to regain my sanity! I suppose Thanksgiving wishes will need to be done the old-fashioned way!”
Another tweeted: “Facebook and Facebook messenger are acting funky today. Error messages and pictures not going through.”
A third declared: “Anyone else having trouble with Instagram or Facebook being down?
“The only social media that’s working for me is Twitter!”
A fourth wrote: “Am I the only person having issues with Facebook right now?”
Numerous Facebook users have posted images of an error screen when attempting to log in to the social network. One said Facebook was down for maintenance while the other said an “unexpected error” had occurred.
The first message said: “Facebook will be back soon. Facebook is down for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few hours.”
The other stated: “Login failed. Sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.”
Facebook has not yet commented on the outage. But the social network is not the only huge app to be plagued with problems this afternoon. It seems Instagram is also down with thousands reporting issues.
