The key royal rules Kate and Meghan must follow at Princess Beatrice’s wedding

Earlier this year, Princess Beatrice announced she will tie the knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, also known as Edo, after a short romance. Like all royal weddings, it is sure to be a star studded affair with royals including Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle likely to make an appearance.

In a post on Instagram, Eugenie said: “Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.”

Eugenie went on to share a message from the happy couple about their engagement.

It read: “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.

“We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married.

DON’T MISS

“We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Although the wedding date is not yet known to the public, it has been confirmed to take place in 2020.

It is likely Beatrice is already well underway making wedding plans but what royal traditions must guests follow?

Guests of a royal wedding are expected to follow certain rules on the big day which include security checks and sitting in a given seat.

Cover up

Royals are also expected to wear appropriate clothing including tights and stockings if their legs are on display.

Otherwise, guests are to wear long garments and cover their shoulders.

Myka added: “Black tie for ladies means floor length gowns. Shoulders are typically covered.

Don’t steal the show

Like most weddings, guests of a royal ceremony are to stay clear of wearing white or cream garments.

Kate and Meghan are used to stealing the show, so they will probably make an extra effort to keep the attention away.

Speaking before Princess Eugenie’s wedding, royal journalist, Camilla Tominey, spoke on This Morning about what Meghan and Kate will wear.

She said: “We’ll have to keep an eye on Kate and Meghan because traditionally they wear outfits they have already worn before. So they don’t upstage the bride. Just so the attention isn’t on them and rightly on the bride.”
