Speaking at Riverdale’s New York Comic Con panel last month, actress Nichols was asked if a relationship between her character and Amick’s was on the cards.
Surprisingly, the actress did not rule out the possibility of the storyline, joking it could happen in season five or six.
She said: “Anything, when we run out of things, that’ll be in there.
“But honestly, I haven’t had [many] scenes with Mädchen, and we’ve always wanted Alice and Hermione scenes together.
“Even as friendship. So hopefully if we do address that, it will start out as a friendship, and then we’ll see…something else. And I wouldn’t put it past them.”
This, of course, wouldn’t be the first time we’d see a lesbian couple on the show.
