The First Lady wrote on Twitter: “It was an honor to return to the Red Cross today with the Second Lady to assemble comfort kits for troops stationed overseas this holiday season. Thank you to all of our military for the sacrifices you make for our country!”

Twitter users were full of praise for Melania as many said they were “proud” of both ladies.

The comfort kits will be sent to troops to Romania, Poland, Djibouti, Iraq, and Kuwait.

The packages includes snacks and games as well as word puzzles.

It come as the First Lady was booed by middle and high schoolers at an event in Baltimore.

Melania dressed more than a thousand students attending the Baltimore Youth Summit on Tuesday.

She added it was also the first booing of the First Lady she has witnessed.

Other Twitter users savaged Melania as they “thanked” Baltimore for the unfriendly reception and said “it’s what she deserves”.

However others defended her. One said: “I like her a lot. It’s a shame the work she does gets overshadowed by her husband.

“Of course this is the case. I’m just saying if she were judged on her own character and actions she’d be admired. Instead she’s insulted and demeaned.”
