This Morning viewers were left emotional over a tribute given by TV chef John Torode to his late colleague Gary Rhodes, whose death was announced earlier today at the age of 59. Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were joined by the Masterchef star in the studio kitchen, who went on to give a touching tribute to the chef who he praised for being an “advocate of British food” throughout his career.
John began: “Really sad. A young man, really talented, and he was a great advocate of British food.
“He was the man who said, ‘Eat British, stop going to France, come and have our produce’. He put us on the map.”
He added: “Amazing talent and very sad news. I feel for his family.”
Viewers watching the tribute were saddened by the news and were left emotional after John’s words.
