According to a report from the NewYorkPost.com, The Weeknd has found inspiration from his former girlfriend, Selena Gomez. The singer, née Abel Tesfaye, is slated to release a brand new song that purportedly includes his ex-girlfriend in the lyrics.
Reportedly, the star registered a new track called “Like Selena” with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, claims a report from E! News. On Monday night, The Weeknd also posted for the first time in months on Instagram.
The singer-songwriter posted that the “fall starts tomorrow night.” Moreover, in August of this year, The Weeknd claimed he was working on a new record. However, Abel didn’t reveal if he would be releasing his new album or a single anytime soon.
As most know, this isn’t the first time that Abel Tesfaye talked about his love for the ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber. Back in 2018, in March, The Weeknd published his track, “Call Out My Name,” which many people online believe is about the songstress.
On the same track, Abel insinuates that he was about to cut out a piece of himself for her life, which fans believed was an allusion to Gomez’s kidney transplant in the previous year. Fans of his thought he was considering giving her one of his kidneys.
As it was previously reported, the 29-year-old singer-songwriter and the 27-year-old songstress dated from January until October of 2017. Around that time, sources close to the couple stated that Selena and The Weeknd weren’t able to hold things together on account of their scheduling difficulties.
Fans of the ex-couple know that once Gomez and Abel Tesfaye broke it off, she started dating Justin Bieber again, which ended up being the very last time they were together. Justin and Selena broke up and he went on to date Hailey Baldwin, whom he then married earlier this year.

As for who The Weeknd has been hanging out with lately, some fans have speculated that he was getting back together with his former girlfriend, Bella Hadid. Despite their breakup in August of 2019, Abel was spotted at her birthday party last month.
