Last year the Freddie Mercury biopic hit cinemas to some pretty lukewarm reviews. Nevertheless, Bohemian Rhapsody went on to make over $900 million on a $50 million budget and then won the most Oscars of any movie at the 2019 Academy Awards.
Since then, Bohemian Rhapsody has broken a number of records.
And now the Freddie Mercury movie’s soundtrack has won another award.
Announced on the official Queen Instagram, Bohemian Rhapsody has won Favourite Soundtrack at the American Music Awards.
The post read: “Last night at the American Music Awards Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody movie soundtrack was named ‘Favourite Soundtrack’! Thanks to all that voted.”

Bohemian Rhapsody beat Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
But what would Freddie Mercury himself have thought of the Bohemian Rhapsody movie?
Express.co.uk asked his close friend Dave Clark, who was the only person with the late Queen star when he died.
He said: “I have to say, when people ask me, when they got the Oscar, the BAFTA, the Golden Globe and all that, ‘What would he have thought?”
He continued: “He knew before he died there would be books about him and I suppose must have had an idea there would be a film.
“I understand people’s objections to moving bits and whatever.
“But when I look at the film, I don’t look at the story, because I know the story, I was in it.
“Maybe it doesn’t finish how it finished in real life, but there is truth in every scene.”
Freestone added: “The acting is amazing. Rami [Malek] believed in Freddie and he was able to bring that through.
“There was that scene where they’re in Jim Beach’s office, where Freddie wants to join the band again – which didn’t really happen, they never split up for Freddie to come back.”
“But, when you see Freddie stand up in that scene, that was exactly the look, the attitude, and the words were exactly what I knew of Freddie Mercury. That could have been Freddie. When we were filming it, I could feel a lump in my throat. And when I watched the film, I had tears coming down me.
“Also the part – which again, didn’t happen like it did in the film – when Freddie tells the band he has AIDS. I cried at that as well.”
