Everton boss Marco Silva pictured for first time since Norwich loss as chiefs ponder sack

Everton boss Marco Silva cut a forlorn figure as he arrived at Finch Farm on Tuesday morning with Goodison Park chiefs debating whether to axe the under-fire gaffer following Saturday’s defeat to Norwich.

Silva had a sullen expression on his face as his BMW pulled through the gates of the Toffees’ training ground as he as pictured for the first time since the 2-0 loss.

Everton now face Leicester, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United in a gruelling run of Premier League fixtures which could finish Silva off.

Former Everton manager David Moyes has been installed as the favourite to replace Silva if Farhad Moshiri and co. decide his time is up.

Silva was joined by assistant manager Luis Boa Morte and goalkeeping coach Hugo Oliveira as he made his way to training on Tuesday.

His future was discussed after Saturday’s game, with further talks held on Sunday to determine whether a change in manager would put Everton on the right track.

Everton are currently 16th in the Premier League after 13 games – just four points above 18th-place Norwich, who only have Watford and Southampton keeping them off the foot of the table.

Everton have won just four games so far this season and question marks were already over Silva’s head prior to the defeat to the Canaries.

Everton director of football Marcel Brands was also spotted arriving at Finch Farm on Tuesday morning.

And the Dutchman will have a big say in the path the Toffees go down as they determine whether a change in manager is necessary.

Eddie Howe has been touted as a potential managerial target for Everton, following his stellar work on the south coast with Bournemouth.

Former Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta is another option – although Express Sport understands Manchester City expect Pep Guardiola’s assistant to stay put until the summer.
