Deepika Padukone movies: Will xXx star Deepika Padukone in Housefull 5?

Deepika Padukone has stunned audiences in a huge range of films in her career. To Western audiences, she is best known for starring alongside Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. But one of her famed movies is Housefull, and some are hoping she may return to the screen in this role again.

Is Deepika Padukone in Housefull 5?

Housefull was a 2010 film, from which three more movies spawned.

In the first movie Aarush (Akshay Kumar) is a bit of a loser who marries a young woman, only for her to abandon him on their honeymoon.

He meets Sandy (Deepika Padukone) who slowly falls in love with him after believing his wife is dead, only to discover this is not the case.

Soon, Aarush is able to win Sandy round, but must then convince her overprotective brother he is right for his sister.

Later, two of his friends, Bob (ACTOR NAME) and Hetal (ACTOR NAME), who are lying to Hetal’s father about Bob’s working life, pull Sandy and Aarush into another lie.

This inevitably causes more havoc until finally Sandy and Aarush are allowed to get married.

The one person who is seen in all of these films is Akshay Kumar, with the other characters and actors changing with each movie.

Ultimately, each film is similar, with there being misunderstandings between couples until a happy ending takes place for everyone.

However, Kumar looks keen to recruit his original castmate, Padukone, to take part in the new movie.

Posting to Instagram with an image of some of his Housefull castmates, Kumar wrote: “Last night was a #HouseFull of fun with friends from Housefull 1, 2, 3 and 4.

“Gearing up for 5? I don’t know [laughing emoji]”

While Padukone was not in the picture, some believe she may be a target for the fifth film in the series.

According to a source speaking to the Mumbai Mirror, producer Sajid Nadiadwala wants to see some of the old faces come back from the original movie.

The source said: “The basic premise of all the Housefull films results from confusion between three couples.

“For part five, Sajid wants to throw five couples into the mix to amp up the fun by five times.

“Since the film demands a huge ensemble, it is essential to get coordinated bulk dates from all the actors.

“There will be clarity on the shoot schedule and the release date only when the script is locked.”

Kumar’s post certainly suggests he does not know if a Housefull 5 will even take place, so fans of the franchise will just have to wait and see.

Padukone’s latest movie, Chhapaak, will be released in cinemas on January 10, 2020
