As for her unusual name, she has explained in interviews that it was inspired by a combination of the name of the lead character in the novel A Sparrow Falls by Wilbur Smith and an electrical storm on the day she was born.
She told the Daily Record that she was teased for her unique name as a schoolgirl.
She said: “It’s all fine now, though and I love having an unusual name. But when I was younger I got teased incessantly.
“I’ve heard all the lines possible, ‘She’s under the weather’ or ‘there’s a storm brewing’, anything with a pun.”
