James Haskell backed for I’m a Celebrity success by former England team-mate EXCLUSIVE

James Haskell has been backed by former England team-mate Dylan Hartley to make it through to the final stages of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Former rugby star Haskell is in Australia as part of this year’s TV series and appears to be taking most things in his stride.

The rugby hard-man has not shirked any challenges so far, perhaps living up to his persona.

And former team-mate, and Haskell’s good friend, Hartley has backed the 34-year-old to do well Down Under by showing his true colours.

Hartley, speaking on behalf of N-Pro, told Express Sport: “People have got this perception of you as a rugby player and this is a great exercise for people to see the real James Haskell.

“He has got that bravado and humour we love, but he’s also really intelligent and a sensitive guy. He’s really caring. “It gives the wider public a chance, it opens the door to what he’s really like. I think he’ll shine through.”

One problem many think Haskell will be having is that of lack of food.

The former flanker has a daily calorie intake of 3,750 on the outside world.

He is being forced to live on around 700 calories in the jungle as camp-mates battle for rations.

And Hartley believes his good friend would jump at the chance to do any eating trials due to his food struggles.

Hartley added: “I think he would eat because he needs the calories!

“He wants his 4000 calories a day. He would eat the bull’s penis if it meant calories!”

The N-Pro is the first headguard to be approved for trial by World Rugby with the aim of reducing head injuries. Visit https://www.n-pro.com/
