Elon Musk humiliation: Tesla CEO explains why Cybertruck windows smashed

Elon Musk yelled out “oh my f***ing god” after the metal ball hit the window and it smashed. The Tesla CEO asked the assistant to throw the ball at the another “bulletproof” window which also smashed. The South African technology entrepreneur has since explained why the Cybertruck windows smashed during the presentation.

Mr Musk wrote on Twitter: “Sledgehammer impact on door cracked base of glass, which is why steel ball didn’t bounce off.

“Should have done steel ball on window, *then* sledgehammer the door. Next time.”

But some Twitter users weren’t so convinced as the ball had smashed two windows but the assistant had only sledgehammered one door.

One user said: “Both windows? He didn’t hit the back door. Also, now thieves will know how to break into my super strong truck now.”

Another added: “Then why did the second window break?!”

A third person said: “Elon just flailing right now, he forgot that the back window also broke.”

After the smash fail, Mr Musk had to continue the presentation in front of two smashed windows.

He joked at the time: “It didn’t go through, that’s the plus side.”

This isn’t the first time share prices of Tesla have fallen.

In 2018, they fell by six percent after Mr Musk smoked marijuana live on a popular podcast.

Still, his basic cybertruck will be available for purchase for $39,000 (£30,000) with a top range model costing $69,900 (£54,460).

For an additional $7,000 (£5,453) customers will be able to purchase a “self-driving” option that will be able to drive itself once the software is completed.
