Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC surprise for Nintendo Switch gamers?

A new character could be added to Super Smash Bros Ultimate that many Nintendo Switch gamers might not expect to be next on the list.

According to the latest rumours, there are plenty of candidates for inclusion in the latest Super Smash game.

But some of them sound more believable than others, including the latest rumours connected to the hit Nintendo Switch title.

According to one such report, Super Smash will soon boast Gordon Freeman from the Half-Life series.

This would be the fifth DLC character to be added to the game and isn’t someone that has been predicted by many.

This new report allegedly stems from the same person who shared news regarding the recently announced Half-Life VR project.

The general consensus among fans is that this new information is likely to be wrong, although everything should be cleared up pretty soon.

According to the leaked news, the new Super Smash DLC announcement will be made during The Game Awards in December.

TGA 2019 is being held on December 12, so fans won’t have to wait long to find out if Gordan Freeman will be the next character to feature in Smash.

TGA events in the past have offered plenty in the way of games announcements and has even featured news related to Smash Bros.

And it’s going to be easy to tune in and watch this year, as The Game Awards is featured both online and in cinemas.

“The Game Awards is all about bringing the game community together, and this year, for the first time, we’re giving fans the option of gathering live in a Cinemark auditorium to watch all the awards, musical performances and world premieres of the most anticipated games of the future on the big screen, with the added perk of being some of the first fans to see ‘Jumanji: The Next Level,’” said Geoff Keighley, Creator, The Game Awards.

“We know video games are a big passion point for a huge segment of our audience, so this unique superticket brings fans the ultimate night out at the theatre,” said Justin McDaniel, SVP, Global Content, Cinemark.

“Cinemark is proud to be the only place to see both the opening night showing of ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ and The Game Awards live on the big screen.”

Other characters linked to future Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC includes DoomGuy, Crash Bandicoot, and Geno.

Nintendo has already confirmed that they are planning to release a range of new characters for the game, heading into 2020.

Terry Bogard from the Fatal Fury series was the latest to be added to the game and was another surprise inclusion.

Nintendo has been actively recruiting characters from a number of different genres and developers to be featured in Smash Ultimate.

So there’s no reason to believe there couldn’t be a few more surprises in store for Nintendo Switch gamers.
