Rangers fans desperate for John Fleck transfer return after Sheff Utd star's Man Utd goal

Rangers fans have praised their former player John Fleck for scoring against Manchester United while playing for Sheffield United.

They have urged Steven Gerrard to bring him back to Ibrox, which is where he started his career.

Fleck started in midfield for Sheffield United in their Premier League clash against Manchester United.

He scored the opening goal in the 19th minute, to give Chris Wilder’s side a valuable lead at Bramall Lane.

“John Fleck proving what a great player he is. Why isn’t he a Scotland starter? Wish he was still a Rangers player,” tweeted one Rangers fan.

“Get John Fleck Back To Rangers,” added another Gers supporter.

“John Fleck is a pler. Rangers should have kept him,” claimed one fan.

“Would take Fleck back at Rangers tbh,” said another Twitter user.

“John fleck scoring for Sheffield united today,” said one fan. “Good to see an ex rangers player doing well in the premier league. If I remember right he got a hard times-

He’s proved a lot of people wrong.”

Fleck made his Rangers debut in May 2008, after being promoted from the Under-20 squad.

He came on for 14 minutes in a 2-0 defeat against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

He was only a bit-part player for the Light Blues and was sent out on loan to Blackpool in January 2012.

Fleck was immediately sold to Coventry City on his return six months later.

He spent four years at the club, before Chris Wilder signed Fleck in 2016 on a free transfer.

The midfielder has since gone on to make 151 appearances for the Blades, scoring 10 goals.

He’s been a key part of Sheffield United’s campaign in the Premier League this season, having played 90 minutes in nine of their 12 league matches.
