Games with Gold December 2019: Big Xbox Live news ahead of Xbox One free games reveal

Microsoft is set to announce their Games with Gold December 2019 roster before the end of the week.

The tech giant has yet to reveal what they have planned in the final month of 2019, but we do know it will contain two games from the Xbox One, and Xbox 360 libraries.

These will be made available to Xbox Live Gold members throughout the month, spread across different dates.

Some games will be playable on December 1, while others will be saved for later in the month, going live on December 16.

For now, it’s hard to pinpoint what day the new Games with Gold lineup will be revealed by Microsoft.

A good prediction would be that the tech giant will wait until the last date of the month to make their announcement.

This has been the pattern throughout 2019 when it comes to the Gold Xbox One free games.

We would guess that Games with Gold December will be revealed on Friday, December 29, before being launched a few days later.

No leaks have appeared online yet, so we don’t know exactly what will be replacing Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter and The Final Station.

October didn’t feature many games fans would consider AAA, but it did offer some much-needed variety.

And gamers sometimes like to pick up titles they have never played before, rather than the biggest hits.

Games with Gold December 2018 wasn’t a month of AAA giveaways, with Microsoft focusing on smaller titles instead.

Indies games like Q.U.B.E. 2 and Never Alone were favoured, making for an interesting mix of gameplay options.

Most gamers favour the release of AAA titles and there will be hopes that more top titles will be made available next week.

For now, there is no way of knowing for sure what kind of games will be made available by Microsoft.

Until then, there’s been plenty of big updates made to leading free games on the Xbox One.

Microsoft has been busy in November, offering gaming news to fans and providing reveals on upcoming launches.

West of Dead was launched in open beta form earlier this month and remains available to play.

The Twin-Stick Shooter will see its full release in 2020 and the demo version allows gamers to try out a few different combos of weapons and abilities.

It ends with a big boss battle and is currently a work in progress, meaning changes could be made to it.

“Purgatory, Wyoming, 1888. A place of gun smoke and darkness, sin and damnation, wendigos and witches,” the Raw Fury game description reads.

“A shifting, chaotic world that takes its form from the memories, culture or beliefs of the souls who pass through.

“When a dead man awakens with only the memory of a figure in black, he sets into motion a chain of events that have truly mythic consequences.”

The West of Dead beta remains available to play for free on Xbox One until November 25, meaning gamers only have a short time to try it out.

Another update this week includes the news that World of Warships is getting cross-platform play between PS4 and Xbox One.

These new changes will be kicking off on November 25 and will allow commanders to battle with or against any other player in World of Warships: Legends regardless if they are on Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

Legends is the first Wargaming title to implement cross-platform functionality and will introduce big changes to the free Xbox One game.
