Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Anton Du Beke and his partner EastEnders actress Emma Barton as nearing the final of the competition. The couple is almost in touching distance of the final and the highly-coveted Glitterball Trophy. Could this finally be Anton’s year to win after being a veteran professional dancer on it?
How long has Anton Du Beke been on Strictly Come Dancing?
Anton has been part of Strictly Come Dancing from the very beginning back in 2004.
He was partnered with singer Lesley Garrett in series one with the pair coming in at a respectable third place overall.
Sadly, his luck hasn’t improved since then with the star getting nowhere near as close.
He came in fourth place both in 2009 with Laila Rouass and then BBC Proms presenter Katie Derham in 2015.
Prior to this, he’d only got a 10 on one of the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas specials.
He was left flabbergasted by his 10s on the show, saying: “First ever 10s, 17 series. you don’t understand.”
Anton added as he was left in shock: “This is how Kevin Clifton feels.”
According to the odds, Emma and Anton have a shot at the Glitterball Trophy this year.
Bookmakers have placed them as third favourite to win the show.
They have odds of 12/1 from Ladbrokes and William Hill, while Betway has given them 16/1.
Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight on BBC One at 7pm.
