Let’s hope Nemesis looks better than he did in the movie.

A remake of 1999’s Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is rumored to be in development. The survival horror game also has a surprising expected release of sometime in 2020.

YouTube channel Spawn Wave released a video Thursday about the rumor of the Resident Evil 3 Remake coming out in 2020. Eurogamer reported on the video and confirmed it also heard similar reports of the game’s development.

Resident Evil 3 takes place days before and after the events of Resident Evil 2. Jill Valentine takes the lead role as she tries to escape the zombie-infested Racoon City. Stopping her is a bioweapon called Nemesis that hunts her down throughout the game.

The 2020 release is possible although a much different approach for Capcom in comparison to the Resident Evil 2 Remake, which was announced in 2015 only to release in 2019. The developer could have been working on both games at the same time. Back in August, GameSpot reported Capcom called for volunteers from the Japanese Resident Evil community to test a secret game. An official announcement may come in December during The Game Awards where several announcements are planned.

Capcom didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
