Harry Potter PLOT HOLE: Madam Hooch could have saved Neville from breaking his arm

One Harry Potter fanatic aired their frustration on Reddit, writing: “In the movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, there’s one scene that always bugged me. During the flying lesson when Neville accidentally sets off his broom and gets stuck, the teacher doesn’t use magic to bring him down gently, instead she lets an 11-year-old fall down and break his bone.”

Fellow fans took to the comments to debate the issue, with one simply calling it “bit of theatrics on the behalf of the filmmakers”.

But another pointed out the fact Harry was saved from a similar danger in a later movie.

“In The Prisoner of Azkaban when Harry is falling off his broom because of Dementors, Dumbledore uses Aresto Momentum and even Expects Patronum (and is also happened quickly) and Hooch couldn’t use one levitating spell or also Aresto Momentum of Inanimatus Conjurus to conjure a mattress or I don’t know,” they said.
