Vikings season 6: Bjorn and Ivar the Boneless' legacy to continue in unexpected twist

Vikings begins once again in the next few weeks, and will bring the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok (played by Travis Fimmel) to the end of their vicious war against one another. After seasons working against each other, the pair now have just one more batch of episodes to rise up as victor, and indeed the new leader of Kattegat.

Ivar the Boneless (Alexander Hogh Andersen), and Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) will surely be the focus of the final season, as will their final conquests.

However it has now been revealed the show will continue in a spin-off, aired on streaming service Netflix.

After all is said and done between the sons of Ragnar, Vikings will continue with a brand new story.

The show will be titled: “Vikings: Valhalla,” and – according to the NX On Netflix Twitter account – will be “coming soon”.

If this is the case, it would continue the theme of following the children of the main characters – from Ragnar to Bjorn, and so on.

Furthermore, Deadline reports the sequel show will dramatise the adventures of Leif Erikson, Freydis, Harald Harada, and William the Conquerer.

They go on to say: “These men and women will blaze new paths as they fight for survival in an ever-changing and evolving Europe. This is the explosive next chapter of the Vikings legend.”

The series will also be executively produced by Michael Hirst – the showrunner behind the current Vikings show.

Meanwhile, a new trailer for the final season was recently released, and showed off Ivar’s deadly new ally.

He could be seen sitting in a tent with Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky), a known adversary of Bjorn.

Oleg announced: “Ivar the Boneless, it is time for us to look west. Kattegat.”

Ivar is looking for any way to take down his brother, and he may have found it in Oleg
