Roman Kemp: I’m A Celebrity star’s secret career move away from show revealed

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Roman Kemp, 26, the son of Martin Kemp, 58, is widely known for presenting Capital Radio’s Breakfast show. But in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the DJ revealed he has reached out to comedian Asim Chaudhry, who stars as Chabuddy G in People Just Do Nothing, for a job.

He said: “I really want to do acting, you’re the first person I’ve told.

“I decided this year… I always wanted to do it, it was the thing at school I would do well in like drama and stuff.

“And I built confidence and that’s why I think I’m able to do presenting or at least try. My thing is impressions and building characters and that.

“I spoke to Charbuddy G… he’s writing a couple of comedy stuff and I’ve text him like, ‘Have you got any roles?’

“I will stand there and audition, even if it’s for a five minute part I’m willing to do the graft not if someone offers me a part.

“I would absolutely love to do it.”

Roman went on to say he doesn’t believe his famous father could help him in his new path, despite the actor’s successful career.

He added: “At the end of the day if you’re not good at it, you’re not good at it.

Tonight, the radio star will compete in a gruesome eating challenge alongside his fellow campmate Adele Roberts.

Last night, Martin Kemp took to Twitter to reveal he had voted for his son to take part in the challenge after he said he couldn’t sing.

Roman jokingly told campmates that his father’s mic was turned off when he performed with Spandau Ballet.

In view of his 215,000 followers, he wrote: “Just voted for my boy to eat Kangaroo B******s… That’ll show him!! @romankemp.”

Many of his social media fans flocked to his page to comment on his humorous post.
