Star Wars 9 Rise of Skywalker: Daisy Ridley ‘MORE to Rey's parents’ PLUS Palpatine tease

Earlier this year Avengers Endgame’s plot was shrouded in mystery. And now Disney is working hard to make it the same for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

Nevertheless, teases have been shared from cast and director of what fans can expect, in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly.

During The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren claimed Rey’s parents were nobodies, but there might be more to this mystery than meets the eye.

Daisy Ridley teased: “The parents thing is not satisfied — for her and for the audience.

“That’s something she’s still trying to figure out — where does she come from?”

Isaac said: “This has been a very long chess match that’s been played between the Jedi and the Sith — all the way back to the very beginning.

“It’s an amazing thing to see that really come to the forefront.”

The outlet speculated that The Rise of Skywalker could mean a reunion of Force ghosts, which would certainly be fitting for the final chapter.

We saw Yoda in The Last Jedi, but surely it’s time for Obi-Wan and Anakin to reappear with Luke?

Asked what Force ghosts can and can’t do in the world, Abrams simply replied: “That’s probably best answered by not answering it.”

Nevertheless, the director has teased there’s lots of the film that we’ve not even seen glimpses of.

He added: “The [trailers] that have come out are scratching the surface of what the movie is.”

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
