Michelle Obama meltdown: Ex-FLOTUS sends Instagram crazy with heartwarming tribute

The ex-FLOTUS has nearly 35 million followers on the popular social media programme. This week, she has been at the National Portrait Gallery in the US, sharing images of what she has been up to. But when she encountered a picture of her former US President husband, fans were wild with the special image.

The picture depicted Barack sat pensively in a brown chair looking forward toward his viewers.

He is seen to been sat with dozens of leaves and flowers growing up around him.

And Instagram users “love, love, loved” it.

One wrote: “Love this portrait.

The American composer, singer and actor is renowned for creating the hit Broadway musicals ‘Hamilton’ and ‘In the Heights’.

Michelle described Mr Miranda as a “good friend” of hers as she presented him with a prestigious award.

According to Kim Sajet, the director of Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, Mr Miranda was being presented with the ‘Portrait of a Nation Prize’ which “reflects the mission of the National Portrait Gallery as handed down by Congress in 1962 by having made an impact on America’s history and culture”.

She captioned the image:”So proud to present the Portrait of a Nation Prize to my good friend, Lin-Manuel.

“Love this guy — with his melodies, rhymes, and nonstop energy, he’s painted as honest a portrait of our country as I’ve ever seen, lifting folks up through his work onstage and off.”

Fans of Michelle’s took to Twitter to congratulate the pair and compliment her on her dress and make-up.

One user said: “Two national treasures.”

Michelle and Barack were in the White House for eight years after Barack was elected US President in 2008.
