Kate Garraway: I’m a Celebrity star details annoying habits ‘I might get on their nerves’

Journalist and television presenter Kate Garraway, 52, said she wouldn’t be surprised if some of her habits end up annoying her campmates in the Aussie jungle. The GMB host, who is currently competing on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity, admitted some of her most annoying traits.

Kate told Hello! Magazine that she is a bit of a chatterbox, and hopes she “learn when to zip it” in the jungle.

She said: “I think I might get on their nerves because I ask too many questions.

“And I talk too much. I’m hoping I’ll learn when to zip it.”

She also told the publication that she had decided to go on the reality series thanks to her children’s encouragement.

Her daughter Darcey, 13, and 10-year-old son Bill were both keen for her to go on the show.

She said: “Darcey really got into the last couple of series and kept saying: ‘You should so do this Mum,’ and things like: ‘You should eat that slug from the garden, or jump off of that wall, to practise,’ It’s been a war of attrition.”

The television personality also said that she thought her GMB co-hosts would find her I’m a Celebrity stint hilarious, especially Ben Shepherd.

She explained: “I do think Ben Shephard is going to be beyond delighted when he finds out as for years he has said ‘OMG I’d love to see you on the show.

“People will love her, she will be hardworking.”

He continued: “She was genuinely in two minds because if you get bounced out straight away it can be quite humiliating.”

Ben Shephard said that he caught Kate trying to smuggle goods into the jungle.

He said he saw GMB’s wardrobe stylist creating a pocket in one of Kate’s bikinis.

He said: “When I left on Friday, Debbie, who does everybody’s wardrobe, was perfecting a little pocket for something or other in the bikini.”

His co-host Charlotte Hawkins interjected: “Don’t say that, it could be contraband.”

Ben explained: “Exactly, that’s what I was thinking. I think she was smuggling… well, I don’t know exactly what it is.”

Kate has already competed in her first bushtucker trial, which saw her team up with Caitlyn Jenner.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! airs on ITV at 9pm.
