Paul McCartney CONFIRMED for Glastonbury 2020: Beatles star to headline Pyramid stage

“Don’t make a big thing of it though, will you?” he added.

A headline slot on the bill for Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary seems fitting for McCartney as it would tie in well with The Beatles’ Abbey Road’s 50th earlier this year.

McCartney has headlined the Festival only once before, back in 2004.

Back in September, he teased the possibility of headlining during an interview on BBC Radio 2, saying: “I mean, people are saying that it would be good if I did it, so I’m starting to think about thither I can or whether it would be a good thing.

“My kids are saying, ‘Dad, we’ve got to talk about Glastonbury,’ and I think I know what they mean.
