Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2: When does Season 1 end and Season 2 start?

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 will be the next major change to the massively popular Battle Royale shooter.

It will contain a new Battle Pass, events and challenges and will probably also have some kind of festive tie-in.

This is based on the time of year it will be launching and how we have so far seen no Winter themes being used during Chapter 2.

So when can fans expect the new season to start and the old one to conclude?

WHEN DOES FORTNITE CHAPTER 2 SEASON 1 END?

According to Epic Games, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 ends on December 12, 2019.

That is how long the current Battle Pass is scheduled to be active for and is currently all Epic Games has said on the matter.

But things aren’t always as clear cut as this when it comes to the end of a Fortnite Season.

The end of Season X saw Epic Games shut down the game for several days before launching a new map.

It was a massive change in the usual schedule and something that caught many off-guard. Replacing your game with a screen showing a black hole is always a good way of grabbing headlines.

The good news is that the same isn’t expected to happen at the end of Fortnite Chapter 2.

Season 1 will most likely conclude with a big event, which fans will be able to watch in-game.

But it’s expected that the waiting around., looking at a Black Hole part, will be eliminated by Epic Games.

WHEN DOES FORTNITE CHAPTER 2 SEASON 2 START?

Looking back on how things have been handled by Epic Games, it’s easy to guess how things might run this time around.

There’s a good chance that Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 will start on Thursday, December 12.

This is the day most favoured by Epic Games to launch a new Battle Pass and there’s no reason to believe this will change in December.

The development team may have their own special plans so there’s a chance we will find out a new date in the future.

For now, data miners have found evidence to suggest that Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 will be made available on December 12, or December 13.

And there’s also a good chance that Season 2 will last longer than other seasonal events.

Last year saw Epic Games go on a festive break, telling fans: “The Epic Games team will be taking its own holiday break this winter, so Season 7 will be extended by two weeks and end on February 28.

“We’ll still have new updates coming out during that break period bringing new items and challenges.

“You can plan on more holiday cheer to hit before the New Year as well!”

This saw the release of the 14 Days of Fortnite event, which included a lot of new loot to unlock.

It will be interesting to see what new plans Epic Games has for Fortnite Battle Royale with the launch of Chapter 2 Season 2 in December 2019.
