Asda isn’t officially taking part in Black Friday this year, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some stellar deals inside its store.

And one of the most eye-catching deals we’ve seen is a 49-inch Smart TV priced at £229. Yes, you did just read that correctly.

The set is built by Polaroid and has all the usual smarts and features you’d expect, including built-in Netflix and YouTube apps. In fact, there’s even a shortcut to the Netflix app on the remote, so you don’t need to waste any time getting to the next episode in your binge-watch of The Crown.

With its LED backlighting, the set promises to be bright and colourful. Although it’s not Ultra HD or HDR compatible, that’s not the sort of future-proofing you’d expect from a set at this ludicrously-low price tag. So, we’re not all that surprised.

The brand-new LED Smart TV is designed to complement any home or surroundings, Polaroid says. With Freeview built-in, you’ll be able to tune into over 60 Freeview HD channels.

If you want to pick-up the Polaroid TV, it’s only available in-store from ASDA. Not only that, but the price drop will kick-in on Black Friday itself. This year, that falls on November 29.

You can find your nearest ASDA store using their online store locator here.

Speaking about the Polaroid 49-inch Smart TV at its launch, CEO April Lunde said: “Since we first launched the Polaroid Series 1 TVs exclusively with ASDA in 2012, we’ve had a great response from consumers in the UK.

“We’re excited to bring to market a fresh feel with some of today’s most popular technology for the Polaroid 4K UHD Smart Series TV, the first Polaroid TV that works with Alexa. In a competitive TV market, the partnering of household names ASDA and Polaroid, alongside the Polaroid brand’s reputation for innovation and value, ensures unrivalled value for money in the Polaroid 4K UHD Smart Series TV range.”

If you’re in the market for bargains, you’ll be pleased to know this stunning Polaroid TV isn’t the only deal going around.
