In a wild turn of events, Monique Samuels has filed counter-charges against her Real Housewives of Potomac co-star Candiace Dillard. The Bravolebrity also cited second-degree assault.
Just days after Candiace made a second-degree assault complaint in a Maryland courthouse, Samuels is doing the same according to filed obtained by the Black Socialites.
This may not be a surprise to some because Monique’s attorney stated that his client was simply defending herself against Dillard who has a history of being violent.
A. Scott Bolden told People Magazine: ‘Ms. Dillard has a public reputation for aggressive, belligerent and threatening behavior that has played out repeatedly on the Housewives of Potomac for millions of viewers to see for themselves. To be sure, my client did nothing but defend herself in the face of more very aggressive behavior by Ms. Dillard. If this event occurred during taping of the show, I am confident that the video will bear all of this out. My client has every right to file for a counter criminal summons, as well, and will consider doing so, while fully defending herself in this action that has been filed with the Court. Either way, I am confident that she will prevail on this matter. Going forward, we hope that Ms. Dillard seeks the help she needs to avoid creating these kinds of unsafe and unfortunate circumstances in and outside of the workplace.’
It turns out that the counter summons is exactly what the mother of three did. The criminal summons was issued on November 14.
This is all following an incident that went down in October. The word is that Candiace and Monique got into it, Candiace allegedly threw a drink, and Monique reportedly grabbed Dillard’s hair and pulled her down after threatening to ‘drag her’ during last season.
Unfortunately for the beauty queen, the viewers are mainly #teammonique. Many have threatened to stop watching the show if Samuels is fired and Candiace has been pulled from the Bravocon lineup.
