Memphis Depay responds to Tottenham, Man Utd transfer speculation

Memphis Depay has responded to speculation over his future.

The Dutch forward is reportedly wanted by Tottenham and Manchester United over a mega-money transfer.

Tottenham are reportedly ready to offer up £50million for the 25-year-old.

However, it has been confirmed that United have first refusal on the Lyon striker.

The Red Devils let Depay leave back in 2017 after he failed to impress at Old Trafford.

Having been signed for £25m in 2015, he made 33 Premier League appearances but scored just twice.

Since joining Lyon, however, things have been much better.

The attacker has scored 41 league goals in 99 games, as he has garnered attention from the Premier League once again.

Spurs were linked with a move earlier this week, before it was confirmed that United have first refusal, but Depay hasn’t been listening to any rumours.

Whilst on international duty with Holland, the prolific striker was asked about the speculation over his future.

He had a rather brutal response, however.

“I don’t want to talk about that,” he said.

“I don’t want to talk about rumours that I know nothing about.

“We leave it in the corridors.

“I am focused on a strong season so far.”
