Russell Westbrook continues Patrick Beverley feud with mocking gesture to Clippers star

There is clearly still no love lost between Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley.

Any match-up between Westbrook and Beverley is expected to be fiery.

And although the two were relatively kept apart throughout Wednesday night’s game between the Clippers and Rockets, there was still one moment which showed tensions were still high.

Beverley was in foul trouble in the latter stages of the game, and then was called for his sixth foul when he bodychecked James Harden.

The crowd immediately cheered as Beverley fouled out of the game, but Westbrook could also be seen waving goodbye to the Clippers guard.

The feud between Beverley and Westbrook dates back to 2013 when the former injured his rival’s knee in a collision during the playoffs.

The players have since exchanged regular barbs in the media when their respective teams have faced off.

Last year both players came to blows in a heated exchange during the LA Clippers game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Beverley once again swiped at Westbrook’s knees, sparking fury among both benches as the duo attempted to go at each other.

Police had to step onto the court to intervene the situation as tensions continued to flare up.

Wednesday night saw them face off again for the first time since Westbrook moved to the Rockets.

But Beverley’s main assignment for the night was to disrupt James Harden, meaning he was kept away from Westbrook for most of the night.

Beverley’s hounding defence couldn’t stop Harden though, who finished with an incredible 47 points as Houston recorded the win over the Clippers.

Doc Rivers was also ejected from the game late on for over-stepping the mark by lambasting the officials.

His son, Austin Rivers, could be seen calling for the Clippers coach to be handed a technical foul.

And once the officials waved their hands to signal Doc Rivers was ejected, the Rockets guard could be seen smiling before taking a seat on the scorer’s table.
