“I remember going to school looking like that, with my hair in ringlets,” she said as she pointed to a photo of when she was a school girl.
Lorraine went on to admit her mum, Anne, was “disappointed” she didn’t go to university.
“They were a bit disappointed, but never said anything at the time,” she said on the BBC show.
“And, of course it turned out alright in the end and my baby brother went to university.
“They got the picture, you know, the very important picture that sits on the mantle-piece with the funny hat, the scroll and the robe? It’s there, so it’s ok,” she said with a smile.
