Fortnite update: Epic Games explains Chapter 2 patch delay as fans hunt for EGO Outpost

Today’s Fortnite update has been delayed following Epic Games revealing its plans for server downtime.

This was supposed to kick off on November 11 but since been postponed. The good news is that Fortnite update 11.11 will still be released in the near future.

This will be even more disappointing to Save the World players, who were set to get new content with the latest patch.

Epic Games has not said when the next Fortnite update will be released but it appears that fans will probably have something by the end of the week.

“Hi, everyone. We are postponing the release of v11.11. We’ll keep you updated regarding when it’s planned to release,” the message from Epic Games explains.

Due to the change in schedule, Fortnite Battle Royale will not be going offline for maintenance at 9am, GMT.

Instead, fans should be able to carry on playing until Fortnite 11.11 is scheduled again for release.

Meanwhile, Fortnite fans can continue the hunt for letters as part of the most recent challenges release.

The brand new Fortnite challenges reward players with lots of XP to help fill up the Battle Pass.

Completing the full set of missions also unlocks the latest loading screen, which contains a clue needed to solve the final Week 5 challenge.

Week 5 challenges task players with eliminating opponents with Assault Rifles and at Craggy Cliffs or Salty Springs.

There are a few medical challenges to complete, including one in which you’ll need to heal teammates with a Bandage Bazooka.

Another tasks players with reviving teammates, while a further challenge involves rebooting a friend.

One of the more fun-sounding challenges tasks players with dealing damage while riding a motorboat.

If you’re not familiar with the Season 11 map, then one of the trickier challenges involves visiting E.G.O Outposts, with a Fortnite map available to follow here.

FORTNITE OUTPOSTS

  • An E.G.O station can be found on the beach west of Pleasant Park.
  • Another is located at the southern part of the map, near Misty Meadows.
  • A third is south-west of Holly Hedges, while a fourth can be found near the centre of the map, just north of Lazy Lake.
  • A final E.G.O station is in the north-east portion of the map, between Steamy Stacks and Dirty Docks.

While fans are always eager to find out about the latest Fortnite challenges and changes, Epic Games has been skipping the usual patch notes routine during Chapter 2.

Fans are eager to see this return but it’s hard to gauge whether Epic Games are planning a return to the big updates lists of old.
