Greta Thunberg likened to Russian President by Piers Morgan ’Turning her into Putin’

The outspoken ‘Good Morning Britain’ host, has in the past caused uproar as he mocked the 16-year-old activist. In a tweet, Piers commented on a mural being created in honour of the activist in San Francisco.

Tweeting to his followers, Piers said: “Why are they turning her into Vladimir Putin?”

Quickly some questioned why Miss Thunberg even had a mural because of her age.

One said: “How about she spend her whole life or at least another 20 years working for her cause before being plastered on a wall.”

Another said: “What did she actually do?

“Didn’t she just sit on some steps somewhere and became famous for it?”

However, some supported the activist and questioned why the TV personality was taking aim at the 16-year-old.

One user wrote: “All of the people encouraging this blatant bullying of a child should take a moment and think how you would feel if your child was treated in this way.”

Another wrote: “It’s shameful that climate change activists, sacrifice this poor child to the media, to achieve their own agenda.

“The eyes of all future generations are upon you.

“And if you choose to fail us I say we will never forgive you.

“We will not let you get away with this.

“Right here, right now is where we draw the line.”

Piers performed an impression of the 16-year-old on ‘Good Morning Britain’.

However, the TV presenter was criticised by some on Twitter for mocking the teen.

One user said: “How dare Piers Morgan mock Greta Thunberg, why do GMB give him the time of day and pay him for his disgusting comments.”

Prior to his impersonation, Piers had also taken aim at Miss Thunberg for being nominated for the Noel Peace Prize.

At the time, he tweeted: “What’s she done for peace, exactly?

“She’s got just very very angry about climate change, abused loads of adults & terrified millions of children.”
