KSI speaks out after win

KSI was in a reflective mood after beating Logan Paul, and revealed that he was surprised with his ability to take punches.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he explained how he was able to get past the big American and take the win.

“I knew I had to get in his face and give him no time to breathe,” he said.

“I needed to close him down and pressure him.

“He did well to move around quite a bit, but I caught him a few times.

“I got him a lot in the body to slow him down, then the knockdown I hit him with, I’m not sure if it counted, but I felt good.

“It’s definitely different.

“I took some big shots, but I was surprised, I was able to take those big shots and keep going.”

KSI BEATS LOGAN PAUL

KSI has beaten Logan Paul on points after what was, admittedly, a thrilling fight at the Staples Center.

The judges had it 55-56, 57-54, 56-55 for KSI, who remains unbeaten in his boxing career.

Speaking afterwards, Paul protested the decision, saying he would ask the commission why he wasn’t given a warning instead of two points off for hitting KSI on the back of the head.

Both fighters buried the hatchet over their ‘beef’, but KSI flat-out refused to fight him again.

ROUND SIX

Both fighters believe they’ve won the fight at the final bell.

Paul had two points taken off him in the fourth round, but KSI was knocked down, so it’s a tough one to score.

KSI continues to push towards the end, but Paul seems happy to sit back and continue to land on the counter.

The fight ends with both fighters going hell for leather trying to get the final shots in.

ROUND FIVE

The penultimate round is underway, and KSI still appears to be hurt after eating those two uppercuts.

The Brit is now using his footwork to get around the ring, land potshots and stay away from Paul.

Paul has clearly learned his lesson from the last fight and is much more conditioned.

With round four being affected by the two points taken off for the punch on the ground, the last round could make the difference.

ROUND FOUR

Paul knocked KSI down to the floor, before hitting him on the canvas.

The American was docked two points, but the knockdown was still counted.

KSI looked significantly hurt by the uppercut, and is now struggling to get around the ring.

Somehow, he survives the end of the round.

ROUND THREE

Paul hits the canvas, but referee Jack Reiss deems it a push.

KSI is continuing to push forward, as Paul seems happy to let the fight go late.

KSI has landed the cleaner of the punches, but is yet to properly rock the American.

ROUND TWO

KSI appeared to catch Paul with a combination mid-way through the round, but the American weathered the storm.

Paul appears to be happy to let KSI come forward to him, as he chooses to back away and land jabs.

ROUND ONE

Both fighters start the round by throwing wild punches.

Paul appears to be targetting KSI’s body, while KSI is utilising the jab.

KSI appears to be throwing the right hand over the top and trying to connect to the top of Paul’s head.

05:00am UPDATE: Here we go

Rick Ross rapping KSI to the ring, Justin Bieber is walking with Logan. The national anthem is being played on an electronic violin. There’s almost too much to keep up with.

Jonathan Batista was just disqualified during the float fight with Nikita Ababiy.

Ababiy knocked down Batista earlier in the first round, before hitting him on the back of the head.

Batista then made a meal of the back of the head punch and rolled around on the floor, before getting back up again and going at Ababiy.

Despite the bell sounding, Batista kept swinging and tried to punch Ababiy despite being held back by the referee.

Devin Haney has retained his WBC lightweight crown with a terrific performance over Alfredo Santiago.

04:00am UPDATE: Santiago goes DOWN

Devin Haney is starting to turn on the style in the fifth round.

The defending world champion landed a series of shots before sending Santiago crashing to the canvas.

UPDATE: Welcome to our live blog

Here we go. We are live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the most anticipated internet event since last year’s amateur bout.

KSI and Logan Paul have met once in the ring before, fighting as amateurs at the Manchester Arena in a highly contested draw.

Now, however, they have turned professional and will meet again without headgear.

Pundits have been unable to split the two YouTube stars, though the bookies have Paul as the favourite.
