Strictly Come Dancing contestant, Alex Scott, 35, wowed judge, Craig Revel Horwood, 54, as he sang her praises on Thursday’s instalment of It Takes Two with Zoe Ball. The Strictly panellist was “impressed” with how much she’d improved on the show.

Zoe asked the infamous ‘Mr Nasty’ who he thought had improved the most in the competition.

“For me, it’s Alex,” Craig admitted.

“I think the combination of Kevin as well as Neil, and Neil instructing Kevin, and just all of that going on is creating a real stir!”

“She’s really come out of her shell, she now has personality,” Craig smiled.

“She’s brilliant”

Zoe dropped a hint that Craig might be even more impressed by the sports pundit on Saturday: “Wait until you see her this week, amazing!”

On Saturday, Alex really impressed the judges as Motsi Mabuse said she was “falling more in love with her dancing” and head judge, Shirley Ballas said: “You’re a delight to watch and you’re improving weekly.”

Could Alex’s Strictly fate be sealed from these positive hints from the judges?

Earlier on the show, Alex appeared with her pro partner Neil Jones and his stand in, Kevin Clifton.

Neil was forced to step down from his dancing duties due to a calf muscle injury two weeks ago, leaving Kevin to replace him in the live shows.

Speaking on last Saturday’s performance, Alex said: “I did get really emotional – it’s nice to see how much I’m improving.”

“I need to be passed by the physio,” he admitted, as he described his leg was feeling “really good” in practice he had done earlier in the day.

The pro dancer is due to see the physiological today – will he be given the all clear?

Some viewers were gutted to learn that Neil’s return to his dancing duties wasn’t definite ahead of Saturday’s show, with one saying: “Ohhh Neil:(( but I love Alex’s positivity she’s a sweetheart.”

Another commented: “I hope Neil’s well enough for Saturday. I love Kevin but it’d be nice to see him and Alex dance together again.”

The contestant and whoever her pro partner is will be dancing the Jive this week to The Twist by Chubby Checker, and she confessed it’s very “full on”.

“He’s put a good routine together, and we want everyone to have fun with us,” Alex beamed.

Alex is currently placed at 12-1 to win the competition, but it’s safe to say Craig has a soft spot for the sports presenter.

The judge also addressed the criticism the four judges received from their “controversial” decisions following the exit of some of the fans favourite celebrities.

“If you’re worried about it, vote. We have choose who’s the best, we are technically looking at the dances and who’s the best on the night.

“If you have problems with it, VOTE!”

Will Alex get viewer’s votes and continue to soar this week?

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC.
