Kevin Clifton: ‘Love it more than dancing’ Strictly 2019 pro teases career change

Kevin Clifton, 37, has been on Strictly Come Dancing since 2013, but it seems there is a different job he now has his sights set on. The Grimsby-born star admitted he loves wrestling more than dancing, after responding to a Twitter user.

Tim Prottey-Jones, a producer, said to the professional dancer: “@keviclifton Woah… hold the phone… you watch wrestling??!!

“Why are we only just finding this out about this now?? You’re my new favourite!”

“Lifelong wrestling fan mate,” Kevin responded. “I love it more than dancing!”

Kevin and girlfriend, Stacey Dooley, attended WWE Raw in London back in May on a date night.

The Strictly favourite has been dancing ballroom and Latin as a child after being taught by his parents, former World Champions Keith and Judy Clifton.

Kevin competed nationally and internationally as a child and became Youth World Number 1, four time British Latin Champion and won International Open titles in many countries around the world.

Meanwhile, Kevin may get another chance to dance with Alex Scott on Strictly Come Dancing tomorrow night, as her original partner, Neil Jones, is still unsure whether he’s fit to perform.

On It Takes Two last night, the three of them appeared on the sofa to chat to host Zoe Ball.

Neil added he was due to have a check-up first thing this morning to decide whether he can perform or not.

Alex explained she has been dancing with both Neil and Kevin in the run-up to tomorrow night’s performance and said her professional partner will make the decision.

“If he’s one hundred percent, I know he will go out there and dance it,” she said.

“If I’m dancing with Neil or I’m dancing with Kev, they’re both amazing guys,” the former footballer praised.
