Before meeting and marrying Donald Trump, the First Lady was working as a model. Melania studied design at the University of Ljubljana before she abandoned her degree to pursue modelling. The future First Lady was spotted in Milan in 1995 by Paolo Zampolli, a model scout and friend of Trump.
Melania then moved to New York where she shred an apartment with a photographer named Matthew Atanian.
Mr Atanian described Melania to Vanity Fair as disciplined in her pursuit of her career.
According to the photographer Melania had little interest in nightlife or making friends.
He revealed how the future First Lady “wore ankle weights around the apartment” and strictly ate “five to seven vegetables and fruits every day”.
Mr Atanian added: “She drank a lot of water. She was looking to make money as a model.”
According to Melania’s former roommate, she was only getting second and third-tier work and how at age 26 he time was apparently running out.
Mr Atanian, who was working for Marie Claire at the time, recalled the future First Lady asking him to help her get in the magazine.
The photographer sensed it was hopeless, he said: “She was always kind of a stiff person. That’s why she wasn’t a successful model, because she couldn’t move.”

“Back before the internet, this was the only way models could be submitted for work.
Ms Cummings added: “Which is why her ZED cards keep bugging me. We have never seen one.
“We have never seen a single ZED card for any of the years she was supposed to be working surface.”
She added there were no professional shoots of Melania “of any kind”
Ms Cummings claimed: “We have tons of early pictures of any model of her generation, even if you were only a second-tier catalogue model.”
She then shared images of a young Melania modelling, she posted the photographs with the caption: “This is what you find of Melania. There are more, but you get the point.
“These are the pictures your local photographer takes in your podunk Communist town which you send to a modelling agency, who never writes back.
“The next time she’s working, it’s because she’s dating some old guy in New York and she’s sort of famous. There are literally no pictures of her work.”
Ms Cumming’s concluded her social media outburst by posting: “Which brings me to my point, which I am going to present very, very delicately.
“There’s a decade she can’t account for.”
