Fortnite update 11.10.2 PATCH NOTES: Epic drops surprise new Battle Royale update on PS4

Fortnite fans can download another new update for PlayStation 4.

Epic Games has confirmed that PS4 owners will need to update the game to version 11.10.2 to continue playing the game.

The news was announced over on the Fortnite Status Twitter page, alongside a brief description about what the patch does.

According to the Fortnite patch notes, update 11.10.2 fixes a problem with hitching on the PlayStation 4.

“We have released a new patch (v11.10.2) on PlayStation 4 today to resolve reported issues of hitching. A download is required,” reads an Epic tweet.

“Thanks to everyone for submitting feedback!”

Hitching is when video games suffer from frame-rate stuttering. Needless to say, it’s not ideal when playing online multiplayer games where split-seconds make the difference between life and death for your character.

Fortnite update 11.10.2 is the second patch released by Epic Games in the space of just a few days.

Content update 11.10.1 dropped for PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch on November 5.

Unfortunately, Epic didn’t actually announce the update beforehand, so it caught fans off guard.

As discovered by Lucas7yoshi and FNBRLeaks, the new Battle Royale update adds the Harpoon Gun to Fortnite.

“So, yes. A Content Update was pushed out at 8am EST (19m ago),” reads a FNBRLeaks tweet.

“This introduces the Harpoon Gun, it does 75 Damage to players and has 10 Shots, acts similar to a Grappler but doesn’t actually include mobility.”

The Harpoon Gun was actually discovered in game files following last week’s initial 11.10 update.

The update primarily revolved around the introduction of the Fortnitemares event, which has just come to an end.

The 11.10 patch also made partying up with friends even easier than before.

This is because players were able to assign nicknames to friends, which are visible no matter how often they change their account name.
