Celtic player ratings vs Lazio: Neil Lennon's side impress in superb Europa League victory

Neil Lennon’s Celtic left it late to beat Lazio in the Europa League.

It had the potential of being a long night in Rome when Ciro Immobile put Lazio ahead inside eight minutes. But James Forrest levelled before the break.

The Hoops held on through most of the second half before breaking late on allowing substitute Oliver Ntcham to score a last-gasp winner deep into stoppage time.

Express Sport has rated the Celtic stars following the impressive result with the Scottish Premiership side securing their progress into the knockout stages with two games to spare.

Celtic player ratings vs Lazio – Europa League

Fraser Forster – 7

Couldn’t do much about Lazio’s goal but did look shaky at times. Made a crucial save in the dying minutes though.

Hatem Abd Elhamed – 8

Solid for Celtic, barely putting a foot wrong all night. Was unlucky to get injured in the final ten minutes.

Kristoffer Ajer – 6

Stood up well to Lazio’s attack, though not one of his best performances. He won’t care.

Christopher Jullien – 8

Solid at the back as Celtic survived before breaking late on.

Jonny Hayes – 7

Defended well and got on the overlap as often as he could for Neil Lennon’s side.

Scott Brown – 8

Captain’s performance from Brown. Booked but that did not stop him putting himself about and piling the pressure on.

Callum McGregor – 7

Strong performance as usual as Celtic earned a crucial win.

James Forrest – 8

Took his goal well and looked lively throughout the evening.

Ryan Christie – 8

Engine. Constantly running and another impressive display. Subbed.

Mohamed Elyounoussi – 7

Another that was constantly full of energy. Understandably tired in the latter stages.

Odsonne Edouard – 6

Isolated at times up front but didn’t stop running. Missed a golden chance with 75 minutes on the clock.
