Saffron Barker, 19, is currently wowing the viewers and judges alike with her sultry dance moves on Strictly Come Dancing 2019 with ballroom pro AJ Pritchard, 24. However, some eagle-eyed viewers of the BBC One series were left outraged when they spotted the YouTube star without a commemorative poppy pin on her costume during her latest appearance.
Fans took to Twitter and quizzed the vlogger as to why she didn’t have a poppy on but she revealed BBC bosses had banned her from wearing one due to the lifts she was performing with AJ.
One viewer took to the micro-blogging site and fumed: “Someone’s going to have to help me… have the BBC allowed Saffron and AJ to get away with NOT WEARING POPPIES??! Not that I’m offended it’s just very out of character for the BBC.”
In view of her 538,000 followers, Saffron replied: “We weren’t allowed to when we were dancing because of our lift.”
The fan then added: “Ah that makes sense!! I did notice that you were wearing one tonight in rehearsals so was doubtful it was done out of disrespect!!”

Fortunately, they sailed through to next week’s show and Saffron took the opportunity to thank her fans for voting.
She tweeted: “I really thought for a moment our Strictly journey was over and I couldn’t imagine not dancing another week as I’ve fallen in love with it. Thank you so much to everybody that voted we’re only here for another week because of YOU!”(sic)
Fans flocked to comment on the heartfelt message, as one person gushed: “The glitter ball is waiting for you Saffy.”(sic)
Another person quipped: “My phone bill has been so worth it for you.”
