P&O Cruises: Unbelievable moment Britons carry on drinking as pool overflows in storm

Lawson added: “Work on cruises ships they said… it’ll be fun they said. (1 storm later): There’s the pool gone (sic).”

Alison White-Sheen, 68, from Chichester, said she and husband David were drinking a coffee near the swimming pool when the flooding began.

She told MailOnline: “After talking to someone the next day who was at reception she had to hold on and stood with her legs astride to balance herself.

“She also said that some of the staff were very scared and one of the lady staff was in tears.

“I don’t really know how long the storm carried on for – about an hour. They turned the ship, something to do with balancing the ship.”
