Little Monsters is the latest in a long line of horror comedies to hit the big screen. The movie Zombieland: Double Tap and various horrors are already occupying cinema screens after Halloween, and now Little Monsters will follow suit. Here is everything you need to know about Little Monsters ahead of its release.

When is Little Monsters out in cinemas?

Little Monsters is coming to UK and Irish cinemas from November 15.

The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival back in January, and has since done the festival circuit, playing at South by Southwest in March and the Fantasia International Film Festival in July.

After it played the London Film Festival in October, it was released in the USA on October 8 before a streaming release via Hulu, meaning the UK is one of the last territories to see the movie on the big screen.

What is the plot of Little Monsters?

Altitude Film released an official synopsis, which reads: “Little Monsters follows Dave (Alexander England), as washed-up musician who volunteers to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten class field trip after taking a serious liking to the fearless schoolteacher, Miss Caroline (Lupita Nyong’o).

“Dave’s intentions are complicated by the presence of the world’s most famous kids’ show personality and competition for Miss Caroline’s affections, Teddy McGiggle (Josh Gad).

“One thing none of them bargained for, however, is a sudden zombie outbreak.

“Will Dave rise to the occasion and have a chance at Miss Caroline’s heart, or will zombies get there first?”

Who is in the cast of Little Monsters?

Lupita Nyong’o is the lead in Little Monsters as Miss Caroline, a primary school teacher trying to give her students the best school trip ever.

Alexander England plays Dave, a musician with the hots for Miss Caroline, while Josh Gad is Teddy, a famous children’s entertainer.

A whole host of young children play Miss Caroline’s class, while Kat Stewart plays Tess, Stephen Peacocke is Stevens, Nadia Townsend is Sara and Jason Chong is the Lieutenant.

In the trailer, the army tries to contain a zombie outbreak, before we see Miss Caroline and her troupe of adorable youngsters head out on a school trip, along with a schlubby-looking Dave.

Quickly, their tractor ride becomes fraught with dangers as a blood-spattered zombie sets upon them, and it quickly becomes clear that these schoolchildren are in mortal danger.

They find little solace in the playful children’s entertainer, Teddy, and eventually Miss Caroline and her team of kids must hatch a plan to escape the clutches of death.
