Star Wars 9: Red Sith Stormtroopers can use the Force? Shocking 'ancient evil' revelations

Now that the Emperor is back, the whole game has changed. Suddenly the Skywalker Saga is back to being a fable which taps into myths and legends. A new visual guide to The Rise of Skywalker comes loaded with images, but it is the captions which have fans excited. To be honest, the pages on the main heroes and secondary ones like Rose are rather bland, but the spread on the villains will get pulses racing. Especially the descriptions of Kylo Ren and the Sith Stormtroopers.

Star Wars Insider magazine contains exclusive material and just tweeted a few key pages.

Next to an image of a red trooper it says: “Imbued with a fanatical devotion to the First Order, the Sith troopers are an elite force of stormtroopers that draw inspiration and power from a dark and ancient legacy.

Aggressive and well trained, the Sith troopers are adept in armed and unarmed combat, and are equipped with an array of deadly energy weapons and explosives.”

Who knows, they might even be able to shoot straight and actually hit some of the good guys. That would certainly be a first.

Their devotion to the First Order may seem to contradict rumours that they are actually Palpatine’s hidden army.

However, it now appears he has been laying his plans for decades. Was he manipulating Snoke and the First order all along?

If the Sith troopers are drawing on ‘a dark and ancient legacy’ this leads to thoughts of the Sith Lords and their ancient Empire. If they draw their power from it, does this mean they can access the Dark Side of the Force?

The Kylo Ren description also points to the same ancient evils.

STAR WARS LEGEND C-3PO: ANTHONY DANIELS’ ‘DISAPPOINTMENT’ WITH THE NEW FILMS AND MESSAGE TO FANS

It says: “Hungry for even more [power], Ren scours the galaxy for the darkest secrets of the Force in his quest for ultimate supremacy.”

Many now believe it is this search which will lead him to Palpatine and this is exactly what the former Emperor wants.

Conflicting theories suggest either Palpatine wants Rey and Kylo to drain their powers and restore his own or he has plans to use them as figureheads for a new galactic empire. Ret presumably will resist either option while Kylo, it is expected, will have a change of heart and eventually join with her to defeat Palpatine.

Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker is out on December 19
