Emma Barton: 'I was teary' Strictly star reveals upset over Craig Revel Horwood comments

Emma Barton, 42, has admitted she “was quite teary” after Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood was critical of her Tango, which she performed with her professional dance partner Anton Du Beke last weekend. The EastEnders actress and the Ballroom and Latin dancer appeared on spin-off show It Takes Two tonight and discussed their response to the feedback they received from the panel in Halloween week.

Emma explained that although she likes to take the judges’ comments on board each week, Craig’s comments in particular made her pretty upset.

When quizzed on how she felt about the judge’s response to her dance by host Rylan Clark-Neal, the Honey Mitchell star said: “Well I was a bit sad if I’m brutally honest as I came off.”

Anton then interjected, describing his celebrity partner’s “teary” state following the feedback, adding: “Teary. I’m going to say she was teary. I’ve got to be honest with you.”

Emma agreed and confirmed his statement, saying: “I was a bit teary.”

Addressing their complicated routine, Emma continued: “This is difficult Rylan because you’ve got to have straight legs and then suddenly you’ve got to have a bent leg.

“So I’m like what is it? Straight or bent? I don’t know what I’m doing!”

Emma previously shared her emotional reaction to their song choice for the Viennese Waltz in week four of the competition.

During an earlier episode of It Takes Two, presenter Zoe Ball announced: “It’s Barbra Streisand. I keep welling up just listening to it.”
