In a recent interview with Premier Magazine, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said after the video games and the books, her take on Andrzej Sapkowski’s adult fantasy series is the “third version” of the story. “The goal, for me, was to recreate the soul of the books, to recreate these characters I fell in love with while putting them in a new coherent structure, to build a story that makes sense,” Schmidt told Premiere.
