Man Utd team news: Predicted 4-2-3-1 line up vs Bournemouth – Solskjaer makes four changes

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will ring the changes for the Red Devils’ clash with Bournemouth this weekend.

The Norwegian fielded a much-changed side for the Carabao Cup tie against Chelsea and was rewarded with an impressive 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Old Trafford boss is set to recall a number of first-team stars on Saturday as he reverts to a line-up similar to that which triumphed 3-1 against Norwich last weekend.

David de Gea was rested in midweek but should return in place of Sergio Romero between the posts while Solskjaer could opt for a slight formation change against the Cherries.

United have fielded a five-man defence against Liverpool, Partizan Belgrade and Chelsea in recent weeks but will be tempted to deploy a traditional back four once more.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire will all retain their starting berths despite the latter pair suffering knocks against the Blues but Marcos Rojo and Brandon Williams are likely to drop out if Ashley Young returns at left-back.

Luke Shaw is edging closer to full fitness but is unlikely to feature here while Eric Bailly is out until December and fellow injured defenders Diogo Dalot, Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah have no known return dates.

Paul Pogba is also out until December with an ankle injury and Nemanja Matic is still sidelined so Scott McTominay and Fred will continue in central midfield.

Jesse Lingard was deployed in the No 10 role against Chelsea so could miss out in favour of Juan Mata, although Andreas Pereira is the more likely pick having started the past seven Premier League matches.

Daniel James should continue on the right flank while Marcus Rashford may find himself shunted out to the opposite wing if Solskjaer recalls Anthony Martial as his central striker.

United are currently seventh in the Premier League table and would temporarily move up to fifth with victory at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth are level on points with the Red Devils but are without David Brooks and Junior Stanislas for Saturday’s match due to injury.
