Queen Elizabeth II uses ‘decoys’ to trick viewers to maintain Royal Ascot secret

Fashion and royal commentator Mark Heyes revealed that Queen Elizabeth II uses decoy hats to keep her secret Royal Ascot outfit a secret. Mr Heyes explained that the Queen’s outfit is kept a secret until two minutes before the Queen arrives at Ascot. While on Lorraine Kelly’s show he added that details of other fashion secrets of the Queen is expected to be revealed in Angela Kelly’s, nicknamed the Queen’s gatekeeper, latest book.

Lorraine began: “A very interesting new book is out.

“We know the Queen but we don’t know the Queen, that is the whole point.

“We are going to be able to really look behind the curtain”

Mr Heyes replied: “This is a new book called The Other Side of the Coin by Angela Kelly.

“How can we describe Angela, the dresser, the designer, the confidant of her Majesty for the past 25 years.

“She has been known as the AK47, as the Queen’s gatekeeper, nothing gets past by Angela.”

Mr Heyes continued: “For example at Royal Ascot, what the Queen wears to Royal Ascot is a closely guarded secret.

“Baring in mind all the bookies are waiting for it and everyone has gone and put their money down.

The royal commentator added: “I just adore this level of secrecy to the point that the Queen puts decoys out of other hats.

“It is just absolutely amazing.

“She is just the Queen of matching and I love it just look at her wardrobe.”
