Michelle Obama devastation: Ex-FLOTUS makes heartbreaking life confession on Twitter

The ex-FLOTUS and husband Barack Obama will be back in the state where she grew up on Tuesday. And taking to Twitter, she posted the admission about life lessons she learned and how her charitable foundation aims to support those living in the community. Her foundation initially wrote: “This year’s #ObamaSummit is about the places that give us purpose.

“Today, we’re out in Chicago with @ChicagoCares to give back to the community @BarackObama and @MichelleObama have called home for so long.”

Sharing the post, Michelle added: “Chicago is where I first learned the meaning of service.

“Thrilled to see the @ObamaFoundation out lending a hand across the South Side—couldn’t be more excited to join the #ObamaSummit tomorrow.”

Michelle has often spoken of her life growing up in Chicago.

“You guys do good work, you have really inspired Americans and especially the youth.”

It comes after Michelle revealed the struggles she faced trying to raise her two daughters while living in the White House.

The former First Lady claimed that as her and husband Barack were raising their children in the White House they had to “pretend like all the craziness around them wasn’t happening”.

Michelle and Barack moved into the Presidential home in 2009 with their two daughters, Malia, 21, and Sasha, 18.

She opened up in an interview with CBS’ Gayle King during the Essence Festival in New Orleans.

She told Ms King she used to say to her daughters: “Yep, yep, your dad’s president, that doesn’t have anything to do with you, just take your little butt to school.”

Michelle added during their time in office, her daughters were told to keep focus on where they were going and what they were doing as a result of their father’s role.

The 55-year-old added: “Our focus was to make sure they did what they needed to do.”
