BBC Breakfast star Ben Thompson, 37, joined Dan Walker, 42, and Louise Minchin, 51, in the studio yesterday and later shared a selfie of them on Twitter.
The presenter took over selfie duties as he beamed for the camera, while Dan and Louise could be seen in their usual spot on the sofa in the background.
Ben shared the picture in view of his 36,000 Twitter followers with the caption: “And here’s the @BBCBreakfast on-air selfie (that I didn’t ask for permission for… [crying with laughter emoji] with @mrdanwalker and @louiseminchin #selfieetiquette.”
Louise responded to his tweet, writing: “Very naughty Ben.”
The BBC star’s post prompted many of her social media fans to comment.
One user commented: “Ben you’re looking far too happy for a Monday morning. Now get on the naughty step.”
“Yes naughty Ben, you tell him Louise,” a second commented.
The BBC Breakfast reporter’s tweet came after a discussion about selfie etiquette on the show.
Ben urged his Twitter followers to share their thoughts on whether there should be rules on asking celebrities for a picture.
He asked on social media: “Should there be rules on asking celebs for selfies?
“Reports say a waiter was suspended for asking actor Emma Thompson for a pic as she dined with friends in a restaurant.
“So I’m looking at selfie-etiquette at 0650 on @BBCBreakfast. Thoughts?”
He later followed up his post, writing: “Well that’s kinda terrifying.
“Thanks for all your comments on selfie etiquette on @BBCBreakfast this morning. When is and isn’t it acceptable to ask a celeb for a pic? Lots of mixed views!”
Elsewhere, Louise shared her own selfie with her co-star Dan following her short break away from the show.
The host shared the duo’s latest offering on Twitter in view of her 168,000 followers.
She wrote: “Good morning, nice to be back for @BBCBreakfast anything happened while I was away?”
One user commented: “Good morning Louise, Lovely to see you back. You look fab.”
Another joked: :Hope you asked Dan for that picture?”
