The Edge Hudson Yards, the highest view of New York City opens in 2020

It takes just 60 seconds for the lift to reach 1,100 feet and onto New York’s newest and highest skydeck in the Western Hemisphere: The Edge. It beats the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center and is the fifth highest in the world.

This observation deck is a triangular platform at the top of a brand-new skyscraper in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards neighbourhood adding new intrigue to the city’s iconic skyline.

The Edge is a marvel of architecture, engineering, and technology with panoramic views of New York, a view never before seen quite like this.

It protrudes out 80 feet from the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards into the air and onto the 7,500 square foot outdoor viewing area of the Edge. It is not for the faint-hearted.

For those that do venture out they will get 360-degree vantages of New York City’s iconic skyline, Western New Jersey and New York State spanning up to 80 miles through frameless glass.

The sky deck includes a thrilling heart-thumping glass floor and nine-foot tall, boldly angled glass walls enabling visitors to lean out over Manhattan.

What else?

The experience begins as you enter into an immersive multimedia experience then heading up to NYC’s new commanding pinnacle atop the skyline.

Tip: Edge’s unique vantage point on the western side of Manhattan lets you take in the entire skyline from one place. You can see all the way from the tip of Central Park down to the Statue of Liberty and beyond.

The 101st floor features Peak, a signature restaurant, bar, café and event space run by renowned London-based rhubarb hospitality group, offering a one-of-a-kind culinary destination.

Edge and the dining experience are scheduled to open in March 2020.

Tickets cost $36 to $38 for adults and $31 to $33 for children, depending on whether you buy them online or on-site.
